For Motorcyclists

Motorcyclists

Cumbria has some of the finest riding road in Britain, not to mention a couple of famous biker meeting spots. In short, the county is a fantastic place to ride a bike. At the CRSP we want bikers to enjoy everything that our county has to offer; but most of all we want them to get home safely.

You may therefore wish to book yourself on a Bike Safe Workshop provided by the Cumbria Constabulary by referring to the national website at www.bikesafe.co.uk or undertake the DVSA Enhanced Rider Scheme through the following local providers:

The Partnership currently subsidises this Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) training by £100, please contact one of these providers to ensure that this meets your requirements and to register.

Once registered, the provider will notify the Partnership of your contact details and you can then proceed with your training.

Alternatively, you may wish to consider booking yourself on:

An Advanced Rider course provided by the Morecambe Bay Estuaries Advanced Motorcyclists (MBEAM) Group of IAM RoadSmart which also attracts a £100 subsidy.

Or:

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Advanced Motorcycling Course by contacting www.reivers-advanced.org

Motorcycle Clubs can also provide useful information and support, there is one dedicated to Women riders contact www.evolutionwmcc.com
